RUN, WALK, EAT, AND CELEBRATE EVERYONE’S FAVORITE KEVIN

On September 6th, 2025—what would have been Kevin’s 35th birthday—we invite you to join Kevin’s family, friends, and community in Brooklyn to honor his memory and spirit. Let’s celebrate his life in a way he would have loved: surrounded by laughter, connection, and purpose.

Join for the run and walk, just for the gathering at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Fornino, or both!

Proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to Girls on the Run NYC, an organization with a mission to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.

This milestone year, our goal is to raise $35,000 for Girls on the Run NYC—a meaningful tribute to Kevin’s 35th birthday. Every donation helps: just $35 provides a pair of running shoes for a young girl in the program. Your support helps amplify Kevin’s legacy by empowering the next generation. Learn more below!

About Girls on the Run NYC

Girls on the Run NYC (GOTR NYC) partners with schools across New York City by providing our research-based model which includes curriculum, activity materials, coach training, guidance, and support for after school programming. The research-based curriculum includes interactive activities, discussion questions, and journaling along with non-competitive running activities which help participants develop a love of physical activity. Each season culminates in a city-wide celebratory 5K which gives girls a tangible experience in persistence, hard work, and goal setting as they train for the 5K throughout the 10 week program

GOTR NYC programming and curriculum are focused on three primary areas of growth for youth: physical health, mental health, and social well-being. GOTR NYC uses running as a platform to teach life skills and promote positive social and holistic health outcomes for 3rd to 8th grade girls. The research-based curriculum centers girls, ensuring the program is developmentally appropriate, relevant, and engaging for participants.

At GOTR, we use a whole person approach to elevate the social-emotional and physical well-being of each girl we serve. We know that social-emotional learning (SEL) plays a critical role in promoting positive mental health among youth and helping to prevent the development of mental health disorders later in life. GOTR programming underscores the important connection between physical and mental health. This research-based intervention is an upstream approach with far-reaching impact in mental and physical health, educational attainment, and community engagement. GOTR is committed to empowering all girls in NYC, particularly those who otherwise would not have access to these programs due to financial background. It is our research-based curriculum, trained coaches, and a commitment to serve all girls that sets us apart.
